A funeral service for Mrs. Stinson will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2101 Wildwood Ave, Columbus, Georgia 31906. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.
Mrs. Stinson was born January 28, 1931 in Phenix City, Alabama; daughter of the late Ashby and Thelma Storey.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Columbus for many years and loved her church family tremendously. She retired from Martin Army Hospital after 38 years of service.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Julius Burton Stinson, son, Steve Stinson, brothers, Bobby Storey, Gerald Storey and sister, Shirley Dempsey.
Survivors include her son, Scott Stinson and wife, Kim, grandchildren, Meaghan Stinson, Ryan Stinson and wife, Shira, Lauren Gray and husband, Kyle, great grandson, Jase "Bubba" Gray and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stinson will always be remembered for her kindness and love that she showed to everyone she came in contact with.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2101 Wildwood Ave., Columbus, GA 31906 in memory of Betty Storey Stinson.
