
Charles Ballard Seegar, 91 of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, October 21, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431N/280W, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Brady Baird officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 pm until 1:30pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. Seegar was born September 26, 1922 in Randolph County, Alabama. He is the son of the late Pearse and Lera Ballard Seegar. He was retired from civil service, maintenance division at Ft. Benning, GA, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a charter member of Summerville United Methodist Church in Phenix City, AL. In his earlier years he worked as an auto machinist for C & B Auto. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mote Seegar.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Howell and Edna Seegar, grandson, Chad Seegar all of Phenix City, AL, great grandson, Johnathan Seegar of Texas, sisters, Gertrude Adcock of Woodland, AL, Jane Nance of Anniston, AL, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Summerville United Methodist Church, 1201 32nd St., Phenix City, AL 36867 or a charity of your choice.
