

Clarence E. “C.E.” Powell, Jr., 75, of Salem, Alabama, died Monday December 17, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. EST Thursday December 20th at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, with the Reverends Jimmy Harrell, David Wilkins and Ronald Powell officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Powell was born December 19, 1936 in Johnson County, Georgia, son of the late Clarence E. Powell. Sr. and Helen Virginia Smith Powell. He was a retired self employed pest control exterminator and member of the Shalom Tabernacle and Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville,IN. Mr. Powell enjoyed singing with numerous gospel quartets as well as his own quartet, the Tone Masters.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathleen Taylor Powell of Salem, daughter, faith Michele West and husband Micah of Salem, sons and daughters-in-law, Perry E. and Teresa Powell of Ft. Worth, TX., Edward Keith and Becky Powell of Perry, GA., Mark Edward Powell of Lebanon, VA., sisters, Betty Latham, Marjorie Briggs and husband Tony, Joan Brooks, brothers and sisters-in-law, J.H. and Robbie Powell, Ronald and Sheila Powell, Donald and Judy Powell, grandchildren, Sarah, Isabel,Keith, Corey, Claire and Lana E., great granddaughter, Hannah, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
