

Clayton Wayne Harris, 66, of Phenix City, Alabama , passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday November 24, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm EST Tuesday November 27th in Lakeview Memory Gardens, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 3770 Hwy 431 N, City, Alabama. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Thomas, David Webb, Willis Thomly, Ralph Harrison, Dan Hammock and Donnie Smith.
Mr. Harris was born November 3, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late Jurist Raymond Harris and Kathleen Hammock Harris. He was a graduate of Central High School and a lifelong Phenix City resident. Mr. Harris served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from South Central Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Other than his parents Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his son, Trent Wayne Harris and brothers, Ray "Bo" Harris and Rodney Harris.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Deborah Woodruff Harris , son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Dani Harris, granddaughter, Gracee Harris, sister, Shirley Johnson, all of Phenix City, brother, Lamar Harris of Mobile, AL., mother-in-law, Ina Helen Woodruff of Phenix City, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
