Doris "Nannie Dot" Goodson, 83 of Phenix City, Alabama died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday March 22, 2016 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with Rev. William McCluskey officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Goodson was born May 9, 1932 in Lafayette, Georgia; daughter of the late Oscar Lee McRae and Mattie Alma McRae. She was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Columbus, GA where she was the pianist for more than 40 years. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Goodson.
Survivors include her son, Gaylen Wrape (Kathy), daughters, Sheila Gresham (Jack), Bonita Watson (Joe); three sisters, Mattie Howard, Louise Chandler, Sue Sosebee, ten grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, our rock, prayer warrior and friend.
