Edward Leigh Witsell

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Cathedral, located at 422 Broadway St., Columbus, Georgia, 31901, on December 30, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm.

Following the service, a Burial with Full Military Honors will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama, 36856, on December 30, 2025, at 1:30 pm.

Mr. Witsell is the son of the late William P. Witsell and Virginia Leigh Witsell. He is a retired Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Army and a longtime and devoted member of the St. George's Anglican Cathedral Church. He was a very devoted husband to his wife, Ethel and truly loved his family. He loved his Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed getting together with his friends for fellowship and laughter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Other than his parents his is preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Witsell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ethel H. Witsell, son William H.L. Witsell and wife, Cindy, daughter, Alice L. Miller and husband, Rick; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three nieces.
