Frank W. Evers, Sr., age 84, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 in Montgomery, Alabama. Graveside services are scheduled at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday, January 12, 2019, 3 p.m., according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, Alabama. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1pm till 2:30pm.
Mr. Evers, son of the late John Willis Evers and Jacquline E. Wall Evers, was born August 9, 1934 in Plant City, Florida. He was a Pipe Fitter for over 50 years and a member of the Plumbers, Pipefitters, and HVACR Technician Local Union 72. Mr. Evers was Baptist by faith and member of First Baptist Church, Pelham, Georgia. He was also a member of Inman Creek Masonic Lodge 491, Lyons, Georgia. Mr. Evers was a hard-working man, loved to farm, and enjoyed working on and also owning tractors and antique cars.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Evers Funk, and a grandson, Frank Jonathan Evers.
Mr. Evers is survived by three sons, Frank Evers Jr. of Phenix City, Alabama, Jeff Evers and his wife Cathy of Fortson, Georgia, and Charles Evers of Phenix City, Alabama; one daughter, Carol Rueve and her husband Ed of Montgomery, Alabama; two grandsons, Brian Christopher Funk and Rodney Easter; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
