George Walter Branch

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Reverend David Rathel officiating according to Striffler-Hamby, 3770 US Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL 36868. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Branch was born June 8, 1949 in Phenix City, AL to the late James Wiley and Mabel Ivey Branch. He graduated from Central High School in 1967. Mr. Branch also served our country in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the local Electrician’s Union and working at Ft. Benning with Tiya as an electrician. Outside of work he loved to hunt, fish, Auburn football, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Branch was preceded in death by a brother, James Wiley Branch, Jr.

Survivors include his two daughters, Vicky Lowery and her husband, David, and Jennifer Viereck and her husband, Woody, six grandchildren, Dylan Lowery, Miranda Phillips, Cayla Phillips, Hailey Phillips, Woody Viereck, James Viereck, and Makenzy Viereck, one brother, Lamar Branch and his wife, Sue, one sister-in-law, Voncile Branch, nephew, Dale Branch and his wife, Cassidy, special friends, Roy Morrow, Sandy Head, and Tom.
