George Hilson Dunn

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm in the chapel.

Mr. Dunn was born August 9, 1931 in Troy, AL son of the late Charles Thomas Dunn and Mattie M. Edwards Dunn. Mr. Dunn graduated from Smiths Station High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Dunn was a resident of Riverplace in Columbus, GA.

Mr. Dunn worked as a truck driver for Sunshine Biscuits and retired from Roadway Express. He enjoyed fishing, playing card games and social activities with friends and family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Joe Anne Cooper Dunn.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his children, Dennis H. Dunn (Debra) Anniston, AL, Jackie A. McConnell (Billy) Phenix City, AL and Randy J. Dunn (Sandy) Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Candace Taylor, Brittany Smith, Jenie Hartog, Jeri Sawyer, Matthew Dunn, Rebecca Dunn and Christopher Dunn; nine great-grandchildren and loving family and friends.

Pallbearers: Ricky Dunn, Barry Dunn, Terry Dunn, Jeff Dunn, , Jason Dunn, Clayton Dunn, Tommy Johnson Dunn and Gabe Irvin.

Honorary Pallbearers: Billy Wood, Ray Williamson and Royce Morris.
