Helen Marie Amerson, 92 of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Columbus Hospice House. The family will receive friends Friday, June 20, 2014 from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. EST at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. A private (family only) graveside service will will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Amerson was born August 23, 1920 in Clanton, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late Jessie and Claudia Jones Minor and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Amerson.
Survivors include her three daughters, Myra Durrance (Gene), Wendy Ogle (Charles), Bonnie Ferrell (Chuck), one son, Dale Amerson (Yvonne), five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The family wishes to express a special "thank you" to the caregivers of Green House II at Calvary and the staff of Columbus Hospice for all of their care and support.
