A Visitation for Family and Friends for Helen will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow. A Private Burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Highway 431, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Pastor Charles Keown will officiate.
Mrs. Carden was born on November 13, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Merle Kelley Snow and Helen Irene August Snow. She was an english teacher, working part time at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. She was a faithful member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Dr. B. Lamar Carden; daughter, Jennifer Marie Carden-Keller (Andy) of New Castle, CO; brothers, Dr. Kelly Snow and D.K. Snow both of Birmingham, AL; sister, Dr. Leila August (Steve Daughtry) of Portland, OR; sister-in-law, Judith Carden Hightower; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carden was a loving wife and mother, who loved her family and loved her cats. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Memory of Helen Carden.
