Herbert Morton Williams

A visitation for family and friends will be held on January 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, located in Lakewood Hall, at 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867.

Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 am at the same venue.

Interment with Military Honors will take place at Hopewell Cemetery, located at 3161 Hopewell Rd., Valley, Alabama, 36854, on January 20, 2026.

Mr. Williams was the son of the late Jesse Morgan Williams and Claudia Johnston Williams. He was retired from the Lee County Board of Education with over 30 years of service; serving as a teacher, principal and coach at Wacoochee Junior High and Smiths Station High School. He later served as transportation director. He loved to fish whenever possible.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Walter Williams and sister, Evelyn Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Sue C. Williams, daughter, Jessica Williams Hernandez (Jesus,Jr.), son Eric Williams, grandson, Alejo Hernandez, his sister, Kathryn Pace and several nieces and nephews.
