Homer Benjamin Tarvin III, age 74, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama on Monday, January 14, 2019, 2 p.m. with Reverend Rusty Sowell officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 3-5 pm.
Mr. Tarvin, son of the late Homer Benjamin Tarvin II, was born April 3, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam Era Conflict. Mr. Tarvin was a plumber and electrician for many years. He spend alot of time on repairing and maintaining old antique cars and was also a member of the VFW, Post 665, Columbus, Georgia.
Mr. Tarvin was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Cook and also his former wife, Sherry Tarvin.
He is survived by his wife, Hyesong Tarvin; two daughters, Carol Tarvin and Cathy Tarvin; three sons, Michael Tarvin, Steve (Rhonda) Tarvin, and Scott (Amanda) Tarvin; one brother, Thomas Tarvin; one sister, Mary (Don) Thomas; ten grandchildren, Evette, Emerald, Jacob, Keith, Dustin, Kaley, Madelyn, Cole, Hudson, and Jackson; many other relatives and friends.
