

James G. Stewart Sr. of Phenix City, Alabama died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Columbus Hospice House. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 10:00 A.M. at St. George's Anglican Church, 422 Broadway, Columbus, GA with Father Keller officiating.
James Stewart was born in Alexandria, Virginia on July 6, 1930, graduated from high school there. He joined the Marine Corps as his father did and was called to serve in the Marine Corps for 27 years serving in Korea and three times in Vietnam. James retired as a Captain and was employed the next 16 years as the Senior Capitol Analyst for the House and Senate of Arizona. James completed his BA degree, three Masters Certificates in Gerontology and served on Staff at Thunderbird Hospital, Glendale, Arizona.
Bishop Stewart completed his Education for the Ministry at the University of the South in Mount Eagle Tennessee and was ordained as a Deacon, Priest and Bishop for the Anglican Church in America. Bishop served as the Bishop of the West prior to his retirement.
James is survived by his wife Lisa Ann, daughters, Carolyn of Colorado and Christina of Texas and sons, James of Phoenix Arizona, Charles of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark of Prescott, Arizona; as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. James is also survived by many cousins and kin here in Alabama and retired here to be back home again in Alabama.
