SGM Jesse W. Locke U.S. Army (Ret), 82 of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. EST Friday, March 1, 2013 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431/280 W, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Locke was born November 14, 1930 in Aven Park, Florida, son of the late John and Mattie Mae Locke. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service and retired from the U.S. Postal service with 19 years of service.He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, past four- time Master of the Masons, member of the Wilson-Williams Masonic Lodge 351, member of the Phenix City Shrine Club, past Grand Commander of the Grand York Rite of the State of Alabama, past Patron of the Eastern Star, and member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Survivors include his wife Irma Locke of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Brenda Perkins of Columbus, GA and grandson, Jeffrey Perkins of Columbus, GA.
