Jimmy Ray Mathews

Jimmy was born September 17, 1959 in Russell County, Alabama; son of the late Gaston and Myrtle Miller Mathews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Mathews, sisters, Kitty McConnell and Brenda Mathews Knowles; nephew, Justin Messer.

Survivors include his son, Steven Mathews (Kaitlynn), sister, Gayle Allen all of Opelika, AL, nephews, Eddie Messer, Scott Messer (Claudette), nieces, Paula Messer, Michele (Cornell) Newsome, Sherrie (Billy) Daughtry, great nephews, Gage, Chris, Dylan, great nieces, Christine, Jadyn, and numerous other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. EST, Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. EST until 3:00 P.M. EST prior to the service.
