Jo Ann King, 65 of Phenix City, AL died Monday, August 16, 2010 at her home. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. EDT in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL with Pastor Brad McDaniel officiating.
Mrs. King. was born October 13, 1944 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Doug and Edna Hamby Abney. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Madison King and her brother, Larry Abney.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Johnnie King of Phenix City, AL, five children, Lisa McBride and husband, Ernest of Columbus, GA, Chris King and wife, Stephanie of Arkansas, Michael King and wife, Jenny of Georgia, Jason King of Nevada, Joey King and wife, Vangie of Alabama, sister, Linda Bowick of Georgia, and seven grandchildren. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
