I knew Johnny back in highschool...we played golf against each other.  He was a good man, always quick with a smile.

I was the sports editor at JVHS while Johnny was there. He was by far one of the most exciting sports stories that I covered. Johnny made golf at Jordan High School exciting for the first time ever!!! He was probably the best in the state, while at the same time not growing up at a country club. He just loved the game. To the Kappel family, your hearts will heal in time. For you Johnny " Play it where it lies." GOD BLESS

I know that the tears come a lot easier than the laughs at this moment.  But just remember all the things that he has done in his life and all the times that he was with you. Laughing, loving, being silly or crazy, and yes remember the sad times too. It is a great pleasure to have people that we love spend their time with us while we are on this earth. Ms Kappel we are so sorry to hear of Johnny's passing.  We have such fond memories.  He was a really good kid and grew up to be a fine young man.  We will miss him and pray God will watch over you during these trying times.

Johnny Kappel was a sight to see at the Par 3....He will always be the legend and never forgotten...Johnny accomplished a feat of being the golfer of the year from Jordan High...Thats is an amazing accomplishment...Just to see a kid that walked to the par 3 everyday become the BEST golfer in the bi city area is truly an accomplishment to hard work and love for the game..

I am so sorry to hear about Johnny.  Many fond memories of growing up with Johnny in Bibb City.  I was always proud of Johnny, he was such a sweet person with a beautiful heart.

To Donnie Kappel, I didn't know Johnnie but if he was anything like you he was a real good guy and a great friend. I know what it is like to loose a brother, I was young when my brother was taken from me, I was 7 and he was 18 he was killed in a auto accident and it was real hard on me,but time has helped me heal some but I still miss him and other family members that has left me to go to heaven and I will see them again some day cause I'm going there too and you also will be reunited in heaven with your family. I will Pray for you and your Family and if you need to talk I'm here for you anytime. Remember God Loves You and I Love You and your Family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Johnny. I knew him from a few years ago, but lost touch over the years. May GOD be with your family during this trying time. Johnny was a really good person and I know he'll be greatly missed... I hope your family can take peace in knowing he's in a better place than we are and GOD will take care of his children.

Johnny was an inspriation to children given a chance to shine.  He was one of the best junior golfers in the region, and he will always will be remembered.  I can remeber the first time I met Johnny at the PAR-3 golf course.  From that point, my family fell in love with him.  Your family will be in our prayers!
