Kathryn Gay Tice

August 28, 2010 in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held 11:00am (EDT) Thursday September 2nd in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, AL. 36867, with the Reverend Alan Griffith officiating. Private interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday 1 hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tice was born April 22, 1921 in Roanoke, Alabama, daughter of the late Otis Gay and Mary Burke Gay. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Phenix City and formerly employed at the Opelika Manufacturing Co. in Phenix City. Other than her parents Mrs. Tice is preceded by her daughter, Kathy Newsome Arnold.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Robert Boliek of Birmingham, AL., granddaughters, Tracy Wallace and husband, Chris of Atlanta, GA., Kathryn “Kate” Boliek of Birmingham, grandson, Russell Arnold and wife, Laurie of Atlanta, sister, Agnes Nixon of Inverness, FL., son-in-law, Ken Arnold of Orlando, FL., 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
