Always a hard worker, June was known even more widely for her tremendous skills as a seamstress and quilter. Quoting her son Joseph, “quilting was her passion.” She had a “sewing room” that was both a creative center and quiet haven for her many ideas involving quilts, table runners and just about anything that could be sewed and created. June could never pass up a store with sewing
materials and fat-quarters. Family members and friends, benefited from her many skills. “There’s something wonderful about a quilt, bits of cloth stitched together with extreme care and love. Bundling up in one is like getting a hug from its maker.” June shared her hugs freely and with so many loved ones. As recently as March, 2021 June made a beautiful quilt for great-niece Ellie Rae Finley. Ellie’s quilt was her final quilt.
