Larry Jacob "Jake" Hudson Sr.

Larry Jacob "Jake" Hudson, Sr. 71 of Eufaula, AL passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Canterbury Health Care. A memorial service will be held 6 :00 P.M. ET, Tuesday June 4, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US Hwy 280 W., Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm ET at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mr. Hudson was born March 19, 1942 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late Edward Paul and Effie Hudson. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, was an avid fisherman, loved Nascar and was a loving father, grandfather and friend who was always willing to help his friends and family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward P. "Big Bubba" Hudson, Jr., Jackie Hudson, Lamar Carroll Hudson, and sister, Dorothy Jean "Dot" Allison.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Baker Hudson of Eufaula, AL, daughter, Kim Hudson Powell (Jody) of Salem, AL, son, Larry Jacob Hudson, Jr. of Phenix City, AL, one grandson, Zachery Scott Godwin of Opelika, AL who is the son of Dewayne Godwin, brothers, Ronnie Hudson (Sue) of Auburn, AL, Lamar Carroll Hudson "Little Bubba", Jr. of Phenix City, AL,sisters, Helen "Yuba" Shores of Smiths Station, AL, Veronica Bowman (Chuck) of Opelika, AL, Peggy Skeen of Columbus, GA, mother of his children, Joy Hudson Leeth, sister-in-law, Pat Hudson of Opelika, AL, brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Nettie Brown of Columbus, GA, numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends and his very special loving pet, Molly.
