Lucy K Key Self

Lucy Key Self, 68 of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. EDT in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867 with Pastors Bobby Watford and Kip McKee officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Serving as pall bearers are Wayne Richardson, Art Lancaster, Rufus Boutwell, James Huffstutler, Cheyne McLean and Adam Dabbs. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Harris, Roger Lipscomb, Terry Glover, Lewis Jones, Lewis Jones, Jr., Gerald Weaver, Dr. Scott Wombles, Dr. Ferdinand Alcaide, and Dr. Rajinder Chhokar. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs Self was born July 22, 1942 in Bullock County, AL, daughter of the late Mason and Mary Singleton Key. She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, became a beautician in 1963 and later was owner/operator of Colony House Beauty Shop. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Self and her son, Christopher Self.

Survivors include her daughters, Renea Self Prescott and husband, Johnny, Kendra Self Dabbs and husband, Kevin all of Phenix City, AL, Carla Hyatt and husband Jeremiah of Opelika, AL, brothers and sisters, Don Key of Hurtsboro, AL, Faye Weaver of South Carolina, Jack Key of Phenix City, AL, Ruby Rotten of Millbrook, AL, Charles Key pf Prattville, AL, Janie Sharpe of Troy, AL, grandchildren, Cristian Prescott, Amber Prescott, Erica Hyatt, Samantha Hyatt, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
