Marc Lee Morgan, age 84, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family. A visitation for family and friends for Marc will occur Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Beallwood Baptist Church, 4600 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31904. A celebration of life funeral services will follow from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A committal service will occur after the funeral service at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. Marc was born May 18, 1936 in Hartselle, Alabama to Lottie Pannell Morgan and Ernest Lee Morgan. After High School, he served his country proudly in the US Army. He retired in 1995 as a Butcher at Fort Benning in the Commissary and local markets. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and traveling, which led to his meeting the love of his life, Norma, whom he married in 1999. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. Marc loved his family as they loved him. He enjoyed traveling to the grandchildren’s sports activities and especially to gospel singings. Marc will always be remembered as a man you could count on. Anyone who met Papa Marc loved him. All will truly miss him.
Marc was preceded in death by step son-in-law Tommy Farmer; father Ernest Lee Morgan, mother Lottie Pannell Morgan and brother Donald Morgan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Beallwood Baptist Church or Columbus Hospice.He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Morgan; stepdaughter Teresa Farmer, stepson Wayne Robinson (Rosemary); five grandchildren, Tiffany Breazeale (Trey), Tamara Slocumb (David), Cliff Robinson (Holly), Chad Robinson (Deborah), Clay Robinson (Keely); and great-grandchildren Bobbie Taylor, Caroline, Olivia, Karrington, Peyton, Levi, Luke, Walt, Kinsley, Kamryn, and Chase. Marc also has nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends to cherish his memory.
Pallbearers will be grandsons; Trey, David, Cliff, Clay; and Chad and Jimbo Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Bevil, Fred Lewis, Ian Medcalf, Tommy Miles, Billy Nobles, Bill Phelps, Harold Pritchett, Lee Railey, Dee Williams, and Tommy Williams.
