Mildred Tanner Chambers

September 2, 2010 at her home . funeral services will be held 11:00am(EDT)Saturday September 4th at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Phenix City Chapel, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, AL., with the Reverend Jimmie Hobbs officiating. Private entombment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10am until 11am at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chambers was born April 3, 1927 in Cottondale, Florida, daughter of the late Shirley S. Tanner and Anna E. Simmons Tanner. She retired from Sunshine Biscuit Co. and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents Mrs. Chambers is preceded by her daughter, Sheila Pate, sister, Lucille Tanner and great grandson, R.J. Davis.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Will Tison Chambers, of Smiths Station, son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Joanne Chambers of Phenix City, daughter, Toni Darlene Sowell of San Diego, CA., brothers, Charles Tanner of San Diego and Bobby Gene Tanner of Panama City, FL., 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
