She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Morris Land (husband John Land); nieces, Ginger Land Pate (Richard) and Becky Mirabella (Joseph); great nieces and nephews, Carole Richardson, Clayton Hood, Lindi Pate, Nicholas Mirabella, Leah Campbell; Stepdaughter, Tracy Grimes, Tammy Vaughn, Pamela Dunagan; Grandchildren, Brandy Walker, Gene Walker, Aaron Vaughn, Magen Grimes, Sasha Moore, Mark Vaughn, Robert Moore III, Kenny Moore, Michael Moore. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren great grandchildren and Nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Walker; her parents, Julia Bowdoin Morris and Charlie Frank Morris; and a brother lost in infancy.
She was born January 14, 1936, in Coffee County, Alabama. She graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama in 1953. She was a pioneer and innovator for the Southern Bell Telephone company, being one of the first women to attend pole climbing school and running crews to help put telephones in the Columbus area. She retired with a distinguished career with Bell South and has spent her retirement years on her family farm.
Nancy always had a big and loving heart. She was always there for family and friends who needed her. She always gave her hand to support those she could. She will be cherished and missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held at the Pine Level Church Cemetery in Barbour County, Alabama on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2:00pm eastern time with Rev. Russell Hageler officiating. She will be laid to rest by her husband there.
