Phoebe J. Johnston

Phoebe J. Johnston, 88 of Phenix City, Alabama died Sunday December 8, 2013 at Parkwood Nursing Home. Graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Hillside United Methodist Church Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnston was born October 3, 1925 in Silas, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late Rev. R.K. and Leila Tate Jones. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Phenix City, AL. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. "Clarence" Johnston, son, Jimmy Johnston, brothers, Haniel Jones, Lael Jones and Davis Jones, sisters, Jedidah Jones and Mary Taff.

Survivors include her sons, David Johnston and wife Dawn of Phenix City, AL, Johnny Johnston and wife Debi of Star Mountain, GA, daughter, Patricia Graf of Phenix City, AL, brothers, Aziel Jones and wife Marion, Joel Jones and wife Eleanor, sisters, Matred Perdue and husband J.C., Sarah Mae Cosby, Ruth Edna Sims and husband Malcom, Martha Hyles, Lois Holt and husband Mark, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
