Vergie Ruth Corbitt Elsberry, 88, of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday March 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday March 22nd In the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867,

with the Reverends Mike Reeves and Daniel Deliz officiating. Private interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5;30pm until 7:30pm

at the funeral home.

Mrs. Elsberry was born March 14, 1924 in Coffee County, Alabama, daughter of the late Samuel D. Faircloth and Bertha Mae Oliver Faircloth. She was a homemaker and member of Sunderlan Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents Mrs. Elsberry is preceded by husbands Bradford E.”Emmitt” Corbitt,Sr. and Patrick Henry “Pat” Elsberry. Brother,

Ray Faircloth, sisters, Maude Smith, Louise Barber, Marie Dickey and Nell Johnson.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Linda Corbitt and Morris and Brenda Corbitt, daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Danny, Gilstrap, Cindy and Donnie Wood, Heidy and Terry McConnell, sisters, Sue Tindall, Sammie Hughes and Francis Rigsby, special sister-in-law, Mary Faircloth, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Scott (Michele), Morgan and Ryan, Kevin, Chloe, Michelle Oakes, Alex, Melissa Williams (Chad), Ashleigh Brown (J.B.), Courtney, Kristen Sturges (Larry), Gage, Jesse West, Daniel (Adrienne), Ella, Molly, Luke, Zeke, Brian (Crystal), Caitlyn, Madison, Hunter, Amanda, Chad (Shannon), Asher, Mailyn, Nathan (Brittany), Ty, special nephews, Tim, Ryan and Russell Faircloth, other nieces, nephews and friends.
