William Ivy Leverett, 83 of Opelika, AL died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. EST Saturday, March 11, in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Leverett was born August 23, 1933 in Opelika, Alabama; son of the late Dozier Haywood Leverett, Sr. and Mary Vesta Mitchell Leverett. He was former owner of Data Cash Register and was a loving husband and father; was a highly respected business man with quick wit and a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Annie Jo Leverett and was his most excellent caregiver for the last 12 years of his life. He is also survived by his sons, Glenn Leverett and wife Evelyn, Larry Leverett and wife Beth; daughters, Debbie Moore and husband Rodney, Pam Williams and husband Glen, sister, Mollie Leverett, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
