William Stanley Moorehead

William Stanley Moorehead, age 66 of Columbus, Georgia passed away Friday, February 24, 2023. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home 5750 49th St., St. Petersburg, FL 33709 followed by a graveside service at the cemetery.

Mr. Moorehead was born December 3, 1956 in Macon, Georgia; son of the late Jack Moorehead and Patricia Beasley Ralston. He served in the U.S. Army. During active duty and serving his country in Germany he was involved in a motor vehicle accident leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He was medically and honorably discharged as an E4 of the United States Army on august 15, 1981. He went on to be a proud member of the American wheelchair athletic association in St. Petersburg Fl, and Columbus, Ga where he competed and won multiple medals and trophies all over the USA. He was also a proud member of the paralyzed veterans of America. He took pride in athletics and continued to coach his children’s softball and baseball teams. He was a die-hard GA bulldog fan and wanted everyone to know it.

Survivors include his daughters, Vanessa Gabbard, Donia Moorehead, Patricia Mott and son, Jason Moorehead (Susie); 13 grandchildren, Kimberley White (Jazmine), Ashley Suggs (Chris), Cameron Shytle, Blythe Kline, Adriana Kline, Avalon Moorehead, Chance Mott, Branden Croom, Corian Moorehead, Arian Moorehead, Ajani Moorehead, Lilyanna Moorehead, Amara Moorehead and ten great grandchildren, Connor Suggs, Elijah Kinney, Royale Wilson, Rowan Suggs, Zoe Shytle, Georgia Grizzle, Ra-lynn Kline, Colton Suggs, Kyler White and Gabriel Rivera. He is also survived by his sisters, Denise Bain, Pam Balog, Kelley Murphy, Nelda Castro, Rebecca Jones and his brothers, James Warren, Tony Warren, Tommy Warren and numerous nieces and nephews.
