Alfred Rudy Contreras

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred Rudy Contreras, who was called to his eternal home on July 22, 2025.

Born on November 6, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona, Alfred was a cherished father, son, brother, husband, grandpa, uncle, and a dear friend to many.

Alfred was raised by his devoted single mother, Cecilia, alongside his sister Yvonne. At the young age of 16, he began working at Food City, where he dedicated 26 years of his life. He graduated from South Mountain High School in 1985 and often worked two jobs, always prioritizing the well-being of his family.

Alfred met the love of his life Patricia in 2019 and they were married November 5th, 2023.

His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless others whose lives he touched.

We ask that you remember him not for how his life ended, but for the way he lived it and the lasting impact he made on all fortunate enough to know him.

Alfred is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, loving mother Cecilia and his seven children: Dominique, Mariah, Marilyn, Tia, Yasmin, Rudie, Alfred Jr and his late daughter Arlene . He was also a proud grandpa to Edward, Matthew, Isaac, Mia, and Ivy, and he cherished his family deeply.

While we mourn the loss of Alfred, who went by Rudy to everyone who had the opportunity to meet him, we will find solace in the thought that he is now reunited with his beloved daughter Arlene in eternal peace. Alfred was known for his great smile and his ability to find joy even in difficult times, always reminding us that everything would be okay. He possessed a unique gift for bringing smiles and laughter to those around him, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A funeral service will be held on August 23, 2025, at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney at 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Following the service, a celebration of life will take place at 3707 W. Elm St., Phoenix, AZ 85019.
