She leaves behind her children: Joey Angel Bermea, Rosalinda, David, Alicia Costante, and Israel Elizalde Jr., along with 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Alicia was born in the small town of Eagle Pass, Texas. Her early years were shaped by her parents’ work as migrant laborers, which took the family across the southwestern United States including Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Idaho before eventually settling in Burley, Idaho.
In the late 1960s, Alicia welcomed her first children: Joey, Rosalinda, and David Costante. During a visit to family in Eagle Pass, her daughter Alicia Estrada was born in 1970. Upon returning to Idaho, her youngest son, Israel Elizalde Jr., was born in 1973.
Alicia worked in various roles throughout her life, including in restaurants, the agricultural packing industry, and always as a devoted homemaker. In the early 1970s, the family moved to the Roseworth Ranch homestead, where they embraced ranch life. The children participated in 4-H Club, enjoyed volleyball, and shared many cookouts with family and friends, including the Hiel, Elizalde, and Chapa families, as well as neighboring ranchers.
In the late 1970s, Alicia made the courageous decision to relocate her family to sunny Phoenix, Arizona. There, she continued to work as a homemaker and took on roles in construction as a carpenter and with Exposition Services at the Phoenix Convention Center. In the mid-1980s, Alicia faced significant health challenges that limited her ability to work, but she remained dedicated to creating a warm and loving home for her children.
She found joy in gardening especially tending to her roses and lime trees. Alicia cherished the holiday season with her family especially when her parents would visit from Idaho. Alicia loved hosting family gatherings, cooking, and knitting baby clothes and blankets for loved ones.
Her greatest companion in later years was her beloved Shih Tzu, Ziggy, who was by her side for over 20 years. Alicia was known for her generosity, her open heart, and her unforgettable homemade tortillas. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We love you, Alicia. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
