

Allen W. Skinner, 86, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2015, in Tempe, Arizona. Al was born in De Beque, Colorado on June 23, 1929, to Ronold and Gertrude Skinner. He was raised in Grand Junction and graduated from high school in 1947. After attending Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1950 until 1953. He moved to Tempe in 1955 and completed his education at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is survived by his wife “Pat” of 60 years, sons Michael (Kathy) and Matthew (Wendy), five grandchildren, and one sister of Cortez, Colorado. He was employed at Motorola, first at Technical Publications, then at Government Electronics Group for 33 years, 4 months. Al was very congenial and made many friends. He was also a great fan of ASU Football, and was a member of the American Legion for several years. The family sends a special “Thank you” to all the nurses and care givers at Friendship Village Tempe Health Care Center and to Hospice of the Valley. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 from 1:00-3:00pm at Resthaven Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Inurnment will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul c/o Our Lady of Mt Carmel, 2121 S Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282.
