Amanda "Molly" Vasquez

Amanda Vasquez affectionately known as Molly, passed away peacefully at 92 years on February 16, 2025. For 68 years, Molly served as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, earning the love and respect of family and friends. Known for her loyalty, devotion, and zeal, she was determined to serve Jehovah whole-souled.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years Johnny Vasquez, Sr., and six children, Johnny Vasquez Jr, Sandra Vasquez Flores, Genevieve Greenfield, Ernest Vasquez, Judy Ramos, and Freddy Vasquez. Molly’s legacy continues through her 19 grandchildren, her 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by her son David Vasquez and seven siblings Tommy, Velia, Alice, Lily, Dolly, Irene, and Lyle. Molly was born February 6, 1933, in Flagstaff, Arizona, as Amanda Scott Cortez to Lyle and Josephine.

She was competitive, enjoyed sports, loved card games, and dancing. Her greatest passion was serving Jehovah and instilling a legacy of spiritual heritage into the lives of many. As the matriarch of her family, she exemplified servant leadership. Drawing from her early experience as a teacher's aide, she dedicated herself to teaching others. She valued lifelong learning through her study of the bible and shared her love for research and reading. All who knew and cherished her will deeply miss her frankness, love, wisdom, and graciousness.

Funeral talk will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:30 am, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 811 East Desert Lane, Phoenix Arizona, 85042.

Burial will immediately follow at Resthaven Cemetery, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, Arizona, 85042. The plot information: Section 2, Block 23, Lot 2, space 1.
