Carwell Sims

Carwell Sims was born on September 29,1927 to Fred George Sims and Marchina Curtere. He had four sisters: Palmer Lee Hollins, Inez Ricks, Nancy Randolph, Minnie Morgan Shanklin and two brothers: Elonzo Sims and Fred Sims Jr.

He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in December of 1947 and retired in July of 1969. He also retired from the US postal service in 1999. After retiring from the military, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and later attended Real Estate school where he met and married the love of his life, Catherine Henry, on June 26, 1982, who was faithfully by his side until the end.

Carwell is survived by his wife, Catherine Sims, eight daughters, and five sons Valerie, Franchesca, Cynthia, Marie Reagans, Delores Myles, Neva Walton, Carolyn Armstrong, Marolyn Lavon, Daniel Sims, Port Arthur Richardson, Willie Walton, Gary Wayne Walton, and Kenneth Walton.

He also had twenty four grandchildren: Javan Reagans, Lavonda Wilson, Tammy Bagley, La'Kira Patton, Brian Richardson, Mark Richardson, Arthur Richardson Jr., Nathan Richardson, Rodney Myles, Kevin Myles, Willie Walton IV, La'Quosha Walton, Toya Toppin, Tammy Perry, Trinnette Hollins, Clarence Hollins, Tamika Walton,Ysella Walton, Lybia Strong, Kenneth Walton Jr., Mykisha Walton, Shikoya Walton, Dontrel Colley, and Nashea Davis. He has a host of nieces and nephews, great grand children and great-great grandchildren.
