

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah R Allen, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us on August 13, 2024. Born on August 4, 1949, Deborah was a remarkable light in this world whose life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Home-going services for Deborah will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. A burial will occur Friday, September 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
Deborah graduated from Howard University with a bachelor's degree and later earned her master's degree from Barry University, along with multiple professional certificates. Her professional journey in finance spanned many years at American Express, where she made lasting contributions and touched the lives of her colleagues before expanding into business ownership where her love for helping people gave her a platform to touch hearts and lift spirits.
Beyond her impressive academic and professional accomplishments, Deborah was an accomplished pianist, singer, and worship leader, sharing her musical talents with countless others. Her love for music was matched only by her love for her family and the people God brought into her life.
Deborah is survived by her devoted husband, James Allen; son, Marcus James; mother, Geraldine Reid; sister, Andrea Martins(Tommy); step-daughter, Tricia Allen, cherished niece Victoria Martins; and nephews, Kwabena Reid and Tommy Martins, Jr.(Shareen); brother-in-law Jarvis Kurney (Kathy); and a hosts of grand niece's and nephews. She was also a proud grandmother to Denell, Angelica and Krog James, and a friend, confident, mother figure to so many more.
With a smile as bright as the sun, Deborah had the unique ability to calm any storm with her voice, and wisdom to elevate the mind. She made everyone feel at home in her presence and lived with an open-door policy, ensuring that no one ever spent the holidays alone. Her compassion and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
In her memory, we take to heart the words of Psalm 23, which reflect her spirit and the love she shared with so many.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 in Phoenix Arizona to celebrate, honor and rejoice her remarkable life as she has finally earned her wings and ascend to the hands of God and sit beside her father Russell Reid.
