August 1st, 1927 in the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born a beloved chosen handmaiden of the Lord Dicie Dorothy Sanders, from the Union of her parents Leola Leach-Davis and Aaron Wells Sr.
Dicie was one of five siblings. She was raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she received her Education. She met and married her husband Clifford Sanders and they relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where they became dedicated members of Amos Metropolitan C.M.E Church for over 50 years under the leadership of Rev. H. V. Grissom and other Pastoral leaders of the congregation. Dicie and Cliff were married for 51 years until he passed in 2006.
Dicie continued to serve faithfully as an usher, on the missionary board and various other auxiliaries of the church. Dicie was known to her congregation and many others as Grandma Sanders. She was loved by all who came across her path an was an inspiration to numerous friends and loved ones. Grandma Sanders received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior whom she loved dearly at a young age; she was a woman of a quite and gentle spirit whose passion was service to the Lord and to others.
Grandma Sanders was a homemaker and mother of one child Waverly Pierce, five grandchildren, and over 40 great grandchildren, which led to a total of five generations.
