Erasmo "Jaras" Marquez

February 19, 1968 – November 6, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Erasmo "Jaras" Marquez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on November 6, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on February 19, 1968, in Chihuahua, Mexico, he was the cherished son of Olivia and Miguel Marquez and the beloved brother of Michael, Mary, Noe, Martin, Luz, and Zulema.

At a young age, Erasmo and his family moved to Arizona to begin a new journey. At 17, he welcomed his first daughter, Christina (39), and soon after, met his lifelong love, Rita Mesa. Together, Erasmo and Rita built a family and a legacy, raising four children: Erasmo Jr. (37), Matthew (35), Miguel (29), and Gloria (26). Erasmo’s love and influence extended to his nine grandchildren plus two bonus grand kids, with another on the way, as well as to his many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, all of whom adored him. Erasmo was known for his vibrant personality and humor, captivating those around him with his spontaneous stories and making everyone feel included. His deep curiosity about history, love for Westerns, passion for building RC cars, and enthusiasm for riding quads with his grandchildren showcased his joy for life. A proud fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Erasmo’s warmth, selflessness, and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A celebration of Erasmo’s life will be held on Thursday, November 14, at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. His family and friends will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude for the time they shared.
