Ernie passed away peacefully on September 13, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Veneranda Candelaria. He is survived by his wife, Josie; son, Diego Gutierrez; daughters, Marcia Martinez, Rebecca Perez, Christine Candelaria, and Denise Espinosa. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Ernie was born October 7, 1947 in Morenci, AZ and served his country in the Armed Forces in Vietnam and was a painter by trade. In his spare time Ernie enjoyed playing cards, working on his garden, fishing and most of all, spending time with his family. His thoughtful heart and sense of humor will be missed by so many. Services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Resthaven, 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. burial at National Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
