Janet peacefully transitioned to heaven on November 5, 2016 at Hospice of the Valley Lund Family Home in Gilbert, AZ. She was greeted by her father, Ted Alvarez, who passed in 2003. Janet is survived by her mother, Inez Alvarez, brothers Alex (Joann) Alvarez, David Alvarez, sisters Rosa (Jim) Wehrman, Anna Alvarez as well as two nephews, six nieces, seven great-nieces and two great-nephews. Janet was born in Pittsburg, CA to Ted and Inez Alvarez. Her family moved back to their home state of Arizona when she was eight months old where she stayed for the remainder of her life. Janet attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Grade School, Gerard Catholic High School and ASU where she received her BA in Mathematics as well as a Masters of Accountancy. For the past 10 years, Janet worked for Skinner + Company focusing on real estate accounting and business tax returns. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and especially loved her co-workers. She had a fervent love of reading and her Kindle was never far from reach. Janet’s love for her family equaled their unfailing love for her.
Allen “Al” Charles Ingersoll
Al died on October 30, 2016, preceding his wife’s death by six days. He was born in Chicago, IL, and is survived by his brother Fred Ingersoll, sister Faith Ingersoll, nephew Fred Ingersoll, niece Tiffany Ingersoll and great-nieces and great-nephews. He owned a video store in Maricopa, AZ. Most recently, Al found great success as a highly regarded sales representative for Tuff Sheds at The Home Depot. He loved his job, talking with people at the ‘Depot’ and his co-workers thought the world of Al. He loved to surprise his nieces and nephews at Christmas when he dressed like Santa Claus.
Janet and Al were married for 36 years. They enjoyed long rides on Al’s motorcycle, road trips to Mission Beach and Sea World and later became avid Rattlers fans. They were regular season ticket holders for Gammage and knew the lyrics to virtually every Broadway song. They loved to go to the movie theater and would often spend a day catching up on new releases. Their love for their family, especially their nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces knew no bounds. They will both be greatly missed though we know we will see them again in Heaven.
There will be a service on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 11:00am at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern, Phoenix. A graveside service will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery at 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix. The family especially thanks the staff at the ICU department at Chandler Regional Hospital, Hospice of the Valley Lund Family Home and Candlewood Suites. Donations may be made in Janet’s name to the Lund Family Home at 1982 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert.
