Jo Ellen Deason

Jo Ellen Deason, age 58, of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away peacefully, in the presence of her daughter and sister, at the Hospice of the Valley Sherman House in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday November 9, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.

She went to be with the Lord after her long battle with lung cancer. She was diagnosed with lung cancer six times and went into remission the first five times. She was a fighter and fought until the very end of her life.

Jo Ellen was born on November 29,1958 in Phoenix, Arizona, to Joan and James Deason. She was one of seven children and spent her entire life Arizona.

She had her two children at a young age and loved her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids more than anything. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. She loved Elvis Presley, singing, and dancing, as well as her two dogs Tinkerbell and Gizmo. She also loved giving gifts to people and spending time with her family and friends.

Jo Ellen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Danny Valcik; her son, Gary Freburger; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Angel, Matt, Richard, Alyssa, Crystal, McKenna, and Jayla; her great grandchildren, Henley and Justin; her sisters, Kathy, Vicki, and Patricia; her brothers, Bill and Josh; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Joan and James "Jim" Deason, and her brother, James "Jimbo" Deason.

Visitation and Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 16th at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens located at 4310 E. Southern, Phoenix, Arizona, 85042. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow immediately after the Funeral service.
