Joy Lynn Jones-McGlothlen

Joy Lynn Jones McGlothlen, 47 went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, Arizona. Joy was currently living in Surprise Arizona with her precious family, but was originally born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She later moved from Iowa to Arizona with her Mother and sisters when she was 7 years old. Joy had lived in Arizona ever since. Joy was called home by her heavenly Father after suffering a very unexpected heart attack and cardiac complications. She is survived by her “Cowboy” and loving husband Barry G. Jones, beloved daughter Elizabeth “Sweet Pea” Jaden Arnie’ Van Gurp, Step Father Tino Garza, sisters Monique Michelle Delph, Janice Rene Hazen and Sonnet Danae Rossini and five step sisters and brothersJoy was preceded in death by her parents Coleen Joan (Mielke) Garza and Ernest Ray McGlothlen. Joy worked in the retail industry as well as marketing including holding a position with her sister Jan’s company Safe Advisory Group. Joy had taken a series of courses working towards becoming an ordained minister. However, her primary and cherished accomplishment was raising her beloved daughter Elizabeth and taking care of her family. She loved God’s word and often comforted others with quoting scripture. She will be greatly missed, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is with Jesus, her Mother and Father in heaven. Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery will be the location for viewing and funeral services located at 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85042, 602-437-0436. There will be a private viewing for family only on Friday, December 7th from 4 – 6:00 p.m. followed by a public viewing from 6 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral/memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8th at 2:30 p.m. followed by a graveside tribute. Her husband is accepting donations through the “Donation account for Joy Jones McGlothlen” memorial fund at the Arizona Federal Credit Union to assist with laying her to rest. If flowers are preferred they need to be sent to Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery by Friday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m.
