“’If you haven’t grown up by the age of 50, you don’t have to.’ I doubt I’ll live to see another 50 years but you best believe I will live whatever the man upstairs gives me to the fullest and with no regrets, just like the last 50. I’m beyond blessed to have the most amazing family & friends and thank god for each & every one of you! #nevergonnagrowup”
-Lisa Pulido, October 13, 2015
‘Say how you feel, leave the job you hate, find your passion, love with every ounce of your bones, stand up for things that matter, don’t settle, don’t apologize for who you are….be fucking brave.’
-Lisa Pulido, February 10, 2016
Lisa was a rebel, always true to herself and lived her life HER way (even when it meant breaking the rules), living in the moment, with no regrets. She was someone who truly touched the lives of every single person she met in a huge way. She never judged, never grew up, and always gave everyone a chance. She could be stubborn as hell when she dug her heels in but you knew you could always count on her to be there when you needed her.
Lisa was born to Macario and Sherry Pulido on October 13, 1965. She is survived by her father, Macario, sisters, Julia, Michelle, and Laurie, brothers, Tony, Alex, Macario, Arturo, and Pedro, son Mark Anthony, and grandson, and light of her life Jacob, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and god-children. She leaves behind hundreds of friends and loved ones who will truly miss her amazing spirit. She was a lover of all things sports but especially her Dallas Cowboys, LA Dodgers, and UCLA Bruins. She could rattle off sports stats better than most men, and could be found watching a game with an ice-cold Bud Light in her hand on any given Sunday. As an aunt she was more of a big sister to her nieces and nephews, guiding them, walking them to school, braiding hair, sharing her incredible work ethic, showing them how to work hard and party harder.
When she found out she had cancer in early 2016 her first words were “Cancer picked the wrong bitch to mess with.” And in true Lisa-form she fought that disease with every ounce of strength she had. It’s safe to say that horrible disease is the only thing that was ever able to beat this incredibly strong woman, and she lost her battle, surrounded by her loving family and friends on January 28, 2018.
Strong. Independent. Exciting. Amazing. Generous. One of a kind. The list could go on forever, she was truly one in a million.
If she could leave us with one last piece of advice, this would be something that Lisa lived herself every single day of her life:
‘One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do – Do it now. #livinginthemoment’
