Lois Louise Nunley Nye was born on November 15, 1933 in Red Jacket, WV. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 21, 2018 in Chandler, AZ. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 25th at 4:00 PM at Tempe Nazarene Church, 3929 S Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ.
Lois lived a life devoted to God, family and friends. She married the love of her life, Leon Nye on December 12,1953. Together they had their hands full with their three children: James, Mike, and Katrina. They passed on their love of all things musical to their children and grandchildren. You can usually catch one of them singing or playing a musical instrument. She especially loved to sing hymns. In church you could always hear her beautiful voice singing above most of the congregation as her devotion to the Lord knew no bounds.
Her devotion to the card game Uno was well known. The joy on her face when she laid down the Skip or a Draw Four brought a smile to everyone’s faces (except the one she played that card on.) Lois had a love of being surrounded by family and friends, eating and playing games, in her home and later when in assisted living. She was a social butterfly who wouldn’t hesitate to tell her or her family member’s life story while waiting for one of her granddaughter’s to try on clothes.
Lois is preceded in death by Leon, her parents, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and too many adopted children and grandchildren to count.
The family would like to thank Miramar and staff at the Infinite Care Home for their extraordinary care of Lois in the last few months of her life.
Draw Four, Lois.
