

was born to Wellman and Grace Mumford on July 4th 1915, in Clam Falls, WI.
She attended Wisconsin schools and Anderson College, now Anderson University. At the age of fourteen, while visiting in Duluth, MN, she first heard preaching in the Church of God, and while attending the MN camp-meeting in Grand Rapids, she became a Christian under the preaching of Dr. Earl Martin. Following this time she attended the Rice Lake, WI Church of God, and there she met Loren Shackleton. They were married in 1934.
Most of her life was spent as a wife, mother, and homemaker, and helping in the churches where her husband pastored. She also taught piano for many years. In her later years she served as church organist in the Tempe church. She worked for several years as proof reader, etc., for the Casa Grande Dispatch.
Lois is survived by her children--Mary Lou Coe of Tempe and her husband, Jim; Thomas Loren Shackleton of Blue Springs, MO; Philip Loyd Shackleton' of Pinon Hills, CA and his wife, Karen. She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Plahn, of Rice Lake, WI as well as eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Loren, preceded her in death on April 6, 1998.
