Mrs. McKisson was born on August 24, 1938 in Rotan, TX as the first daughter of the late Edgar Eugene Rodgers and Oleta Ione Weems Rodgers. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended high school at North High. While in high school as a sophomore, she met the love of her life, Ray McKisson. They wed in 1957 and quickly began their family.
Loretta was the devoted wife of the late Raymond Charles McKisson for more than 58 years. Their marriage was recognized by all who knew them as the epitome of mutual love, respect, and devotion. She was a much loved mother and grandmother that loved crafting, sewing, quilting, cooking and baking, ceramics, painting, making and decorating wedding and other special occasion cakes. She enjoyed attending extra-curricular activities for her children and grandchildren as much as possible.
A faithful Christian all her life, she was a current member of Camelback Church of Christ. During her life, Loretta was actively involved in church work including teaching, making crafts, and organizing Bible class resources for children. She became an inspiration to many through the World Bible School as a volunteer and helped many fellow church members in times of need.
As a military officer’s wife, Loretta always made moving to new assignments with Ray easy for her family because of her wonderful organizational skills. Church family became her new family at each deployment. Church fellowships and parties were among her favorite activities along with singing alto in church songs and hymns.
Mrs. McKisson is survived by daughters Cindy Kennedy (Steve) of Gainesville, VA; Gwen Watts (Greg) of Murfreesboro, TN; Kristy McKisson of Mesa, AZ; and a son, Kevin McKisson (Janice) of League City, TX.
