93, of Phoenix, Arizona went home to be with our Lord on July 19, 2012. Magdalena spent her life caring for her family. She lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, and home maker. Her flour tortillas, bean, and green chile recipe was her speciality. No one will ever be able to make them like Magdalena. She has had a "green thumb" and enjoyed gardening in her spare time. Magdalena is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years; Louis Salcido, by both her parents, and by her siblings; Julia, Martina, Selso, and Sixto. Magdalena is survived by her five sons; Julian (Eva), Johnny, Tomas (Lena), Lupe (Eva), and Frank, by her two daughters; Christina Canez (Mike) and Marylou Salcido, by 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 909 E. Washington St. in Phoenix, on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 wit hthe visitation and Rosary to start at 9:00am and Funeral Mass to follow, beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix.
