Dear Wayne, I know how much you miss Norma & can't believe it has been a year.  I do hope you will continue to heal & find comfort.  This has been a very hard year, but I feel Norma would want you to be at peace & carry on.  You had many good years & the memories will be with you always.

Good evening my love, it's been a year now and am healing some but still miss you so very much.  When I travel to places we have been together it sparks the great memories, when to new places feel guilty that we are not sharing them.  We did do some traveling in the last year, the hardest was a trip I wanted to make to Winnemucca where we went for our honeymoon started our life together over fifty [55] years ago.  It was tough but I had to do it. We then went to Hawaii with Brett and Brian, to Montana to visit your family, on to Idaho to visit our daughter Brenda Jean , to Chicago with Brett.  We may make other trips but if not you are back home until we are together again and our boys will determine the fate of our ashes.

Wind tore up one of our sheds so had to reorganize and in doing so found love letters I had saved from you, took me several weeks before I could read them.  When did it was so surprised the feelings weren't sorrow but more that you were talking to me, so comforting and I have read them over and over.

Wayne, I'm so sorry to hear about Norma passing and now I know why you didn't call, we moved, you didn't have numbers. Sorry I didn't call you....  I was not well acquainted but the times we met she was a delight and my sister Bess always loved her, I think because of the mutual obsession to clean, clean.

Hi Uncle Wayne, I didn't hear about Aunt Norma but with some of your recent posts I gathered as much. So sorry to hear that I have many memories of visiting you guys in Boise. Uncle Wayne, words can't describe the way I felt when I opened my mailbox today. I must have looked like a nut standing there with happy tears streaming down my face. The best thing about her cards was they always came from the Children's Hospital. Just another example of what a giver she was! And the stickers! Oh, the stickers! My mother-in-law, Norma, was my friend before she was my mother-in-law.  I worked with her for a couple of years in the dental field and that is when I learned what a fun and loving person she was.  I felt honored that she thought I was a good enough person to introduce me to her son, Brett.  She was a very special person in my life.  I will never forget her laugh and shining eyes.  She always had kind words and loving heart.  She was a wonderful grandmother to Roxie and I appreciate all of her help when she was able to give it.  Brett said, "She always took such good care of me."  She was one of the most caring people I know and that showed in her work and with her family.  I loved that she sent cards in the mail for every single holiday.  It showed us that she was always thinking of us.  I will miss her love and hugs.

Norma was always a fun person to be around.  We spent many hours at Bill and Bret's De Molay activities laughing and enjoying each other.  She was a very special friend.  Her laughter will continue to ring in my heart.  Bruce referred to her as a comic flirt and she would laugh about it.   We will miss her.

My sincere sympathy to all of Norma Jean's family. She was a beautiful and wonderful cousin.  She was also the closest I came to having a sister.  When she lived with us during her last two years of high school we had lots of laughs and fun.  I especially enjoyed the phone calls we shared while vacationing in the AZ desert a few years back.  She was a bright and shining star to everyone and will be greatly missed.  Her name has been placed at the altar on All Soul's Day and she will be prayed for at each mass during the month of Nov.

I am very sorry to hear of Norma's passing.  I had the joy to work with Wayne for many years, and had the privilege of partying with Norma at the annual Christmas parties and other company events.  She was always fun to be around, laughing and joking, having a good time.  Norma shared some advice with me about raising boys, which was very helpful to me when raising my son.  She will be missed.  My sincere sympathy.

Aunt Norma always held a special place in my heart and I feel blessed to have known her. She was the most kind, empathetic and forgiving person I have ever known; I have yet to meet another like her and doubt that I ever will. Her smile and laughter were infectious, her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

Norma and I shared over fifty years of our life together and I could not have ask for and received a more beautiful caring soul mate and a wonderful mother to our children. You just don't realize how much you love someone until can no longer give them a hug and tell them so.  I love and miss Norma so very much and sure always will. She will stay with me until we are together again. It's been a pretty rough seven days but with family and friends to lean on am coping fairly well, better than thought I would. We are getting many beautiful thoughts and memories for all our friends and relatives.  I will open for us to read at least once a day and probably more often.  I tear up on every reading but am told that is a good and normal.

At a time like this, words never come easy.  Norma was such a vital part in the lives of all who knew her.  So happy & fun loving with her wonderful smile & warm heart.  This loss leaves such a void in all our hearts, but as time & memory bring healing, may comfort & hope bloom again.  She truly will be missed.

I have tried to remember a time that she didn't have a smile, a laugh, or a kind word, and I come up with nothing.  Norma was truly the most giving, wonderful, caring, compassionate human being to walk this earth.  Although she will be missed by so many for so many reasons, Heaven is a better place.  I could go on and on to share memories of her kind gestures and words that I was so fortunate to be blessed with, but for now, I just want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Although losing Aunt Norma is heartbreaking, a bigger part of me is rejoicing to have had her in my life!  Love to all!

The memories are endless, the laughs, the smiles, everything about her is a treasure!  My greatest and most recent memories are when she would send Zane holiday cards, and enclose stickers for him.  As a young child, he was giddy every time!  I could spend an entire day talking about what a wonderful woman she was!  Our thoughts are with all of you, and know that we are sending love to you all.

There are no words to describe the kind of woman Aunt Norma was.  She had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold.  Her smile and laugh lit up the room.  To know her was to love her.  God has gained a most precious kind of angel.  Thinking of you all and thankful for all the times she made me laugh.  Love to you.

I had the most honorable pleasure of knowing Norma since my early adolescence, and often considered her a second mom. Though I don't know she pined for another boy in her family, I was always welcomed in to her house and her company with loving arms and warm spirit for which I will always remember and be eternally thankful. In her presence you were always treated as a friend and with her beaming smile you knew she really meant it – this was no act. 

With a quick wit and infectious laughter, regardless the circumstance, she took on the world and the world needs more like Norma. We should all take a chapter from her playbook and apply it with the same gusto – live, love, and laugh – just like Norma, do so and the world will be a better place. I know she'd like that.  

While the light of the world has dimmed with her untimely passage, those blessed by knowing her should take solace in recognizing her light has not been extinguished, but simply transferred to the dozens of others she knew and truly cared for.  

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy for the immediate family, such a passing is difficult, but the fond memories are vast and offer the best way to honor such a wonderful lady and kind soul. May the echo of her laughter forever live in our minds and hearts.

Her energy was contagious and her love would light up a room. There are very few people that are Angels where Grandma is concerned but, Norma is one of them and always has been in her eyes.

Wayne,Brian,Brett,& family, I knew this day would come,when our beloved Norma would have to leave us,but it was way too soon. I know that god has welcomed her with open arms,& lots of love in his heart for her! She was the most wonderful,& amazing person I ever knew! She loved her family with all her heart,& never took life for granted. I had the most amazing aunt in the world. We all loved her with all our hearts! I am sorry to learn of Norma's passing.  We only met the one time years ago, however I felt a close kinship to all of the Byams, especially Bill & Gen.  I'm sorry we did not get better acquainted.  You have my most sincere sympathy and wish you well.
