He was born in Houston, Texas on December 31st, 1952.
Richard had odd jobs as a laborer. He enjoyed working for the Salvation Army annually ringing bells in front of various stores during the holiday season and bringing smiles to everyone's faces. He had a passion for listening to music.
He was survived by Joann Champs (mother), Tameka Loyd (daughter), Ronald March Jr, Previn Loyd, Malaki Loyd (grandchildren), Jeremiah Loyd (great grandchild), Johnny Champs, Fredrick Champs, Shirley Jones, Audrey Champs (siblings), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
