

Thomas Albert Baker was born December 25, 1964 in Phoenix, AZ, to William Melvin Baker, Sr. and Helen Louise Baker. He grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Trevor Brown High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the service and did multiple tours and deployments for The US Navy and the US Army. Being mechanically inclined all of his life, Tom worked for numerous companies using the skill sets he learned on the job and by attending Linn Benton Community College where he earned his LTD Maintenance Electrician Certification. His last job was at SKB as the Chief Building Engineer where he loved his job and the people he worked with. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved motorcycle rides, hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He was able to visit Sturgis SD for the motorcycle rally on two different occasions. He loved to travel, and really enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii. Tom loved to eat and was always up for trying a new BBQ places. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with numerous projects and playing World of Tanks online. Tom is survived by his two sons Austin Baker and Brandon Baker of Bend and Salem, Oregon, His brothers, Dusty (Wife-Beverlee) Baker, Wayne (Wife-Janice) Baker, both of Arizona, Sisters Cindy (Husband-John) Ward of Alaska, and Kandice (Husband Kenny) Debelak of Arizona along with Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins from the Baker, Worthington, and Brewster Families. Tom was also involved in the lives of his girlfriend Diana LaRont and her son’s Mathew and Garrett LaRont as well as Jodi Helvig-Baker and her sons Stephen and Nichloas Outhouse. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 2 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Home in Salem Oregon. On April 1st 2017 Tom will be laid to rest at the Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens in Phoenix Arizona at 10am. We will have a get together after the April 1st services in Glendale Arizona. Come help celebrate Tom’s short but eventful life.
