Wilma June Brooks, known by everyone as June, passed away on October 1, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona, from kidney failure at the early age of 67. She was born and raised in Borger, Texas to Vera Wilson and Luther Brooks, Jr. She built a 30-year career at American Express, retiring in 2004. June loved and cared for her mother for many years. She was a faithful and devoted Baptist, who enjoyed teaching children as well as adults in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. June had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, especially in the church choir and with her sisters and cousins. She was a very fashionable woman who loved: reading, cooking, family gatherings and getting manicures and pedicures and playing on the computer. June was preceded in death by her beloved older sisters, Lucille Mack and Delora Thomas, as well as by her father, Luther. She is survived by: her mother, Vera, nieces Connie, Constance, Chanel, and nephews Cedric and Ronald, as well as many other family members.
